Teaching and Research Assistantships (TAs and RAs) are available to MBAs
to apply for during the second semester and second year of study. MBA
students are not permitted to pursue TAships or RAships in the first semester
of study (MBA Core). Only currently registered MIT graduate students are
eligible to hold student employment at MIT. Students in a dual degree
program outside of MIT are not permitted to pursue TAships or RAships when
not actively registered/enrolled at MIT.
TAs and RAs are hired by MIT and MIT Sloan faculty. Open Sloan TA
positions are advertised in MySloan on the TA Opportunities page. Other
positions across MIT are posted on the MIT Student Jobs Board.
In order to be eligible for a TA or RA position, a student must have a current
cumulative GPA of 4.0 or higher, as shown on WebSIS. Students who have
violated standards of academic or professional conduct are not eligible for
on-campus work. Students are not allowed be registered for and receive
academic credit for a course in the same term they are hired to TA for that
course.
Visit the Student Funding MySloan page for more information about Sloan
student employment.
