MIT Sloan Facilities

Classroom Scheduling

MIT Sloan houses a number of classrooms, ranging from small seminar rooms to large lecture halls. Most areas of the classroom buildings E51(Tang) and E62 are equipped with wireless network connectivity, and most of the School’s tiered discussion-style classrooms are equipped with power outlets at each seat. To reserve a classroom on the MIT Sloan campus for student club meetings or events, have the designated reservation signatory review the policies outlined by here or contact MIT Sloan Educational Services (E52-133). At least three business days’ notice is required to reserve a classroom. To reserve public spaces at MIT Sloan, have the designated reservation signatory go to https://sloanspace.mit.edu/. Finally, for larger events, rooms located in other parts of the MIT campus are available through the MIT Schedules Office at (617) 253-4788.

Please note that only TAs or Student Life approved signatories can place space reservations at Sloan.

Audio/Visual Services and Video Production

Pre-event A/V Planning

To explore how technology can be used at events, students can request a free consultation using the Sloan Technology Services Audio Visual Consultation Form. For events that require special planning (i.e. remote participation or web broadcasting), students must schedule a pre-event consultation a minimum of five days prior to the event using the Sloan AV Consultation Form via MySloan or contact Instructional Technology Support Services at (617) 324-2000. A/V labor and equipment costs can escalate quickly especially if the event is after 5 pm or the room booked for your event doesn’t have built-in A/V equipment. To request an estimate of A/V costs, contact MIT Audio Visual Services at (617) 253-2808.

MIT Audio/Visual (A/V)

MIT Audio Visual Services provides technical support and equipment for any MIT related event. To order A/V services or equipment, students should submit a Sloan AV Support Request Form or contact MIT Audio Visual Services at (617) 253-2808. To assure proper service levels, the following policies are followed:

  • Events during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) require a 48-hour advance notice. Events at other times (weekdays before 8:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m., weekends, holidays, etc.), require a 5-day advance notice.
  • MIT A/V will always try to accommodate late requests and provide the services required for your event. However, due to the demand this places on equipment and staff resources, MIT A/V reserves the right to charge a 20% increase on equipment and labor rates on last minute orders.
  • MIT A/V technical staff will work to assure 100% satisfaction with the equipment and services provided by the department. However, if equipment is provided by others, MIT AV technicians will not be responsible for setup, operation, or troubleshooting this equipment due to liability reasons.

To preview a selection of available equipment and services, consult the A/V web pages at https://studentlife.mit.edu/av.
